deth has Arrived

SLCN.deth

With the recent arrival of NXZ last week and the build up to his WCS Challenger success, I had to hold off announcing SLCN.pro’s third member of its StarCraft 2 roster. So, with out further ado, please welcome Daniel ‘deth’ Haynes to Silicon Sports!

A consistent Grand Master Terran, Dan brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in eSports that will benefit our younger players in Law and NXZ immensely. When I asked Dan to talk about his decision to move to SLCN.pro this is what he had to say.

I’ve had an on-again, off-again relationship with StarCraft 2 for a couple of years. I’ve been around for as long as the game has, actively playing since the beta of Wings of Liberty in early 2010. I fondly remember downloading the client for WoL just to load up a single player map and simply play with the units, while ruining my F5 key every time a beta invite wave was sent out.

A lot has changed since then, the scene has grown, we’ve had countless events and I’ve been lucky enough to have spawned countless memories and friendships that I will cherish for a lifetime.

One thing that hasn’t changed, since it’s inception, is Silicon Sports’ dedication to eSports and the local scene.

From supporting a team of talented players attempting to achieve their dreams, to running dozens of BarCraft’s, live tournament’s and more – the commitment has been unwavering, the passion for eSports unrivalled. I have always held a deep respect for SLCN’s presence within the community, and consider many of their members my friends.

Many teams come and go, but SLCN has proven to be one of, if not the most consistent. I see an even brighter future for the team, and believe it’s best days are truly lying ahead, rather than behind.

It is for this reason I have decided to join SLCN.pro, and I’m very excited to see what the future can bring, not just for myself, but for the organisation as a whole.

P.S. I have been playing a ridiculous amount of the Legacy of the Void beta and will focus most of my energies into learning LotV and developing a better understanding of that game. I will also return to Heart of the Swarm and play as events arise.

I am super excited to have such a knowledgeable and talented player join Silicon Sports. I have personally known Daniel for a number of years through our events and of course BarCraft Melbourne where he first concocted the now famous ‘Manjelico’! You will be able to catch him on stream through out the beta of Legacy of the Void at twitch.tv/dethfanatic or drop him a line @SLCN_deth.

Welcome to the Silicon Sports family, Dan!
