The Best of Oceanic StarCraft 2 Will be Crowned Today

OSEAniC StarCraft 2 Championship

One of our aims here at Silicon Sports is to support the local scene and help it grow. To this end, Silicon Sports is a major sponsor of the OSC, OSEAniC StarCraft 2 Championship, which has been running for two years now under the excellent guidance of Eddie ‘DevianT’ Edwards.

The OSC is a yearly leader board of associated tournaments where players from across the SEA, China and Korean servers come to play culminating in the end of year finals. In 2014 the OSC had 358 individual players with points earned (up from 138 in 2013), and 154 completed partnered tournaments, up from 77 last year. Combined prize pool given away by OSC partnered tournaments in 2014 is a staggering $26,191!

Yesterday was the group stage to determine the eight players who would play against the top eight of the OSC being PiG, iaguz, Enderr, KingKong, Arthur, Petraeus, MightyKiwi and Blysk. Silicon Sports’ Protoss God, SLCN.Pezz, was unlucky not to qualify for the Round of 16 but did collect a bounty when he defeated the Korean Terran, Spear. His unfortunate demise was at the hands of the resident SEA Zergs. This caps off a brilliant year for Pezz who has finished fourth at both the ACL events and second to PiG at the recent Domination Cup. Add to that some breakout performances over players such as iaguz, 2015 looks bright for the Best P in SEA.

Today’s Championship Sunday has over $3500 in prize money at stake. Rifkin from BaseTradeTV as well as the dreaded Maynarde will be casting all the action of the Round of 16 for the OSC at and respectively to determine who the best player from the OSC is. So make sure you tune in from midday to see the best the SEA server has to offer.
